America Can't Trust Thomas Frieden's CDC

America Can't Trust Thomas Friedan's CDC

Among my favorite Ronald Reagan quotations are, “Politics is supposed to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first” and “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”

Without suggesting that someone is a whore or a governmental waste of protoplasm, both observations are all too applicable to the former Commissioner of ultra-liberal Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Thomas R. Frieden.

Since 2009, MD-MPH Friedan has been the Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), federal public agencies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services responsible for controlling health threats from infectious diseases, responding to emergencies, and battling the leading causes of suffering and death in our nation and around the world, according to the CDC website.

The ATSDR website says it “serves the public by using the best science, taking responsive public health actions, and providing trusted health information to prevent harmful exposures and diseases related to toxic substances.”

The chief problems with Friedan, the CDC, and the ATSDR are that all have failed miserably in controling much if any of the suffering and  fatalities related to the deadly Ebola virus now on the precipice of rampaging across America.

It seems some things–such as base politics, political correctness, and gross ambition–take precedence over duty, honor, and competence for some people.  In fact, for all his cheerleading and bluster on the Ebola issue, . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=39276.)

Ebola, Obama's Latest Gift to America

Ebola, Obama's Latest Gift to America

As if exposing Americans to millions of illegal aliens carrying and transmitting everything from tuberculosis to polio to any number of other contagious diseases didn’t sufficiently demonstrate Barack Hussein Obama’s contempt for the health, safety and well being of our country, his administration has now introduced the deadly Ebola virus to our shores.

The symptoms of the Ebola virus disease (EVD), aka Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF), include high fevers, throat and muscle pains, severe headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased liver and kidney functioning, possible bleeding issues, and a mortality rate ranging from 50% to 90%.

Despite the unfortunate fact that there is no vaccine or cure for the dreaded disease and even though the World Health Organization said Friday that it was spreading wildly in Africa, the Obama-Kerry State Department authorized the transfer from Liberia to Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital of two American missionaries, Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, who have been diagnosed with Ebola.

Ebola victim Dr. Brantly arrived in Georgia on Saturday and Writebol will follow shortly.

Emory is more than ready for its infected patients and the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reassuringly said last week that, ”Ebola poses little risk to the U.S. general population.”

Of course, since the CDC’s reassurance came before State’s magnanimous, humanitarian gesture on America’s behalf and since Ebola has an incubation period of up to three weeks prior to the appearance of symptons, the contention by CDC spokesperson Stephan Monroe that, “No Ebola cases have been reported in the United States” is totally irrelevant.

For their part, the good people at Emory University Hospital employed a Gulfstream jet paid for by the generous Samaritan’s Purse charity and equipped with a collapsible tent designed to prevent the escape of infectious germs and have prepared an isolation unit for patients exposed to certain serious communicable diseases.

The area is separate from the main hospital facility and Emory officials assured the public on Friday that there is zero risk that Ebola could contaminate anyone outside their secure unit.

What could possibly go wrong?  After all, the Obama administration, the same people who created the abomination of Obamacare and the chaos on our southern border, is overseeing everything!

More to the point, what was the necessity of our government needlessly introducing an incurable disease like Ebola into continental America when the patients could be treated, not as easily yet feasibly, in a safer location far from our cities? . . . Symptomatic Chikungunya

Symptomatic Chikungunya

Chikungunya isn’t some new poultry dish or the latest Latino dance craze.  No such luck.  Rather, it just may be another unintended consequence of the southern invasion of the United States by tens of thousands, possibly soon hundreds of thousands, of un-inoculated, often disease-ridden, illegal aliens who, along with their backpacks, carry with them communicable ailments never before seen in America as well as sicknesses we thought had been eradicated.

Add to those thousands the eleven or twelve million un-inoculated, often disease-ridden, illegal aliens who have already set up residence here and we have a problem, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, etc., a problem with serious, national repercussions.

Don’t expect the Barack Hussein Obama administration to announce that medical news since they have enabled and encouraged said invasion and they certainly wouldn’t want to be held responsible for either the disabling or deadly epidemics that could be in our future.

However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the national public health institute of the United States, an agency operating under the aegis of the Department of Health and Human Services, has provided Americans with some insight on the chikunguya danger.

As explained on the CDC website: “Chikungunya–virus transmitted to people by mosquitoes. The most common symptoms of chikungunya virus infection are fever and joint pain. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash. Outbreaks have occurred in countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Indian and Pacific Oceans. In late 2013, chikungunya virus was found for the first time in the Americas on islands in the Caribbean. There is a risk that the virus will be imported to new areas by infected travelers. There is no vaccine to prevent or medicine to treat chikungunya virus infection. Travelers can protect themselves by preventing mosquito bites. When traveling to countries with chikungunya virus, use insect repellent, wear long sleeves and pants, and stay in places with air conditioning or that use window and door screens.”

The CDC boasts as its motto, “CDC 24/7–”Saving Lives, Protecting People,” but to date has done little if anything to save and protect Americans from chikungunya or from worse diseases like tuberculosis and polio being imported to our country from the south. . . .
